About the product
Ziółko Dried Tarragon is French tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus) of Polish origin. Its slightly bitter, spicy-herbal aroma, which some find reminiscent of fennel or aniseed, is a classic of French cuisine.
Tarragon is a very potent spice – just a small pinch is enough to give a dish a unique flavour and aroma. It is an essential ingredient in classic French sauces: Béarnaise, tartare and hollandaise and Dijon mustard. It goes perfectly with delicate meats: duck, lamb, chicken, as well as seafood and fish. Fun fact: tarragon flavours wine vinegar exceptionally well – this is the classic French way to make your own tarragon vinegar for dressings.

- Aniseed and spicy aroma – a classic of French cuisine
- Ingredient in béarnaise, tartare and hollandaise sauces and Dijon mustard
- Use sparingly – a dominant spice, a pinch is enough

Usage
A classic French seasoning: béarnaise sauce (for steaks), tartare sauce (for meats), hollandaise sauce (for vegetables and eggs), and Dijon mustard. Excellent with delicate meats – duck, lamb, chicken, seafood (prawns, crab, langoustines), and baked fish. It also works well in marinades, omelettes, salads (e.g. Niçoise) and for flavouring wine vinegar.
How to use
Add a pinch at the end of cooking (the aroma of tarragon evaporates quickly during prolonged simmering). Typical serving: 1/4 teaspoon per 4 portions of the dish – this is an intense spice that is easy to overdo. Flavouring vinegar: add 1 teaspoon of dried tarragon to 250 ml of wine vinegar, leave to stand for 1–2 weeks, then strain. It goes well with parsley, dill, chives and white pepper.
Storage
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place, away from light, moisture and foreign odours.
