Sadvit Rich Sea Buckthorn 100% is a cold-pressed juice from golden-orange sea buckthorn berries, made with no added sugar. Distinctly sour, with a thick, oily character. One 1.5-liter bottle holds six 250 ml servings.

About the product

Sadvit is a family-run press near Warka, Poland, making juice only from fruit and vegetables - no water, sugar or flavor enhancers.

Sea buckthorn is a heavily branched shrub that originally came from deep inside Russia and now also grows in Poland. The berries are small and very sour, so they're rarely eaten raw - juice is how they become drinkable at all.

The juice is cold-pressed using the NFC method and only pasteurized - never concentrated and reconstituted. About 1.7 kg of raw fruit goes into a liter of juice, so a 1.5-liter bottle holds over 2 kg of berries.

The taste is distinctly sour, with a slightly resinous note. It's rarely drunk on its own: more often it goes into tea, a cocktail or a homemade tincture.

The bottle holds 1.5 liters, or six 250 ml servings.

How to use

1. Shake the bottle - the cloudiness and sediment are natural.
2. Pour a spoonful into hot or cold tea.
3. Use as a sour base for a cocktail, syrup or tincture.
4. Drunk on its own it's very sour - dilute with water or apple juice.

Storage

Store in a dry, shaded place at 2 to 20°C. Once opened, keep the bottle refrigerated and use the juice within 21 days.
