Helpa Bio Organic Carob Powder is made from ground, seedless pods of the carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua) – a plant that has been cultivated for thousands of years in the Mediterranean region. Origin: certified organic farms in Spain; a single-ingredient product with no additives.
Unlike cocoa, carob has a naturally sweet taste, free from caffeine and theobromine – making it a convenient alternative for those avoiding stimulants. High fibre content (36 g/100 g – over six times the threshold set by Regulation 1924/2006) and the fruit’s natural sugars (38 g/100 g) provide sweetness without the need for added sugar. It can be used interchangeably with cocoa in the same proportions.

Usage
A substitute for cocoa in cooking – for porridge, cereals, cakes, biscuits, puddings, smoothies and drinks. It also works well in cream and chocolate desserts. The practical zip-lock packaging extends the product’s shelf life. Product for cooking and baking – not for direct consumption as is.
Directions for use
Use as a substitute for cocoa in the same proportions in recipes. For porridge: 1–2 tablespoons per serving. For chocolate cake: replace cocoa 1:1 (typically 50–80 g for a 24 cm sponge cake). For protein shakes: 1 tablespoon per glass of drink. Carob does not require the same amount of added sugar as cocoa – it is naturally sweet, so you can reduce the amount of sweetener in the recipe.
