The value of an omega-3 formula comes down to two things: how much EPA and DHA it actually contains, and how fresh the oil is. EnzOmega MSE addresses both. One capsule contains 750 mg of omega-3 fatty acids, 500 mg EPA and 250 mg DHA, with EPA and DHA making up at least 75% of the oil. A single capsule already covers the intake level at which the heart, brain and vision claims apply.

The raw material is oil from wild anchovy and sardines, small fish low on the food chain that accumulate fewer contaminants than predatory fish. The oil undergoes molecular distillation and is tested for heavy metals. The manufacturer also reports the TOTOX value, a measure of oil oxidation: for the current batch it is 7.5, against a permitted maximum of 26. Vitamin E protects the fats in the capsule from oxidation.

Ingredients

Fish oil concentrate from anchovy and sardines, gelatin, humectant: glycerol (glycerin), purified water, antioxidant: vitamin E.

Contains fish. The capsule shell is made of gelatin, so the product is not suitable for vegetarians or vegans. Free from gluten, lactose, milk protein, soy, yeast, preservatives, flavourings and colourings.

Suggested use

Take 1 capsule 1-2 times daily, before or with a meal, with a sufficient amount of water. Do not chew.

Omega-3 fatty acids are absorbed better alongside fat, so it is worth taking the capsule with a meal that includes vegetable oils or nuts.

The beneficial effect on the heart is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg EPA and DHA. The beneficial effect on the brain and vision is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg DHA. One capsule covers both amounts.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients, including fish. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. Individuals taking anticoagulant medication should consult a doctor before supplementing with omega-3 fatty acids.
