Bilovit Cold-pressed Sesame Oil is 100% oil from unroasted sesame seeds (Sesamum indicum) – unrefined, cold-pressed in a Polish oil mill. A milder flavour than standard sesame oils (pressed from roasted seeds) – with a more delicate nutty note.

It has a straw-yellow colour and a characteristic delicate nutty-sesame aroma. The nutritional table is dominated by unsaturated fatty acids (84 g/100 g): monounsaturated 41 g/100 g and polyunsaturated 43 g/100 g – a typically balanced composition of unroasted sesame oil.

Usage

Cooking oil for Middle Eastern, Asian and Arabic cuisine – for hummus, tahini, salads, dips and marinades. Its milder flavour makes it ideal for everyday use – a good choice for dishes where classic roasted sesame oil would be too intense. Drizzle over hot dishes after cooking (fish, pasta, vegetables). Not suitable for prolonged frying – unrefined oil breaks down at high temperatures. Vegan.

Directions for use

Cold use: 1 tablespoon (12 g) in hummus, tahini or dressings (with lemon, garlic, cumin). Drizzled over hot dishes: after cooking, drizzle over salad, pasta, stewed vegetables or fish. Directly from a teaspoon – 1–3 teaspoons a day.

Storage

Store in the original dark bottle at room temperature, away from sunlight. Once opened, store in the fridge until the expiry date. Unroasted sesame oil in its unopened state usually has a 6-month shelf life (from the date of pressing).
